In the spirit of this quote, not one, but two of our servers have been nominated for the prestigious Calgary White Hat Hospitality Awards, a testament to their dedication and commitment to providing exceptional service. Congratulations to Bella and Renee who have worked incredibly hard to deliver on our corporate mission statement of “hospitality first”.
Additionally, our culinary team, under the guidance of Sous Chef Jonathan Shellard, formerly of the renowned Michelin-starred restaurant Cour Les Loges in Lyon, secured the 2024 Brakeman Celebrity Chef Award in late January. Their outstanding efforts not only earned culinary acclaim but also raised over $98,000 for the Zero Hungry Kids charity, showcasing our team's passion for both excellence and philanthropy.
PARIS & LYON FRANCE
In early February, our restaurant ownership embarked on a brief research and development journey to France, delving into the inner workings of the world's top restaurants and chefs in both Lyon & Paris. Immersed in the heart of gastronomic innovation, we were able to see a wide variety of restaurants and chefs, driven by our deep-seated love for the art of cooking and serving.
With a healthy dose of excitement and curiosity, we explored local favourites and Michelin-starred establishments, not just to dissect leading techniques and menu approaches, but to absorb the essence of true hospitality. From the warm welcomes to the meticulous attention to detail, we observed how other restaurant operators transform exceptional service, ambiance and food into an unforgettable experience. Additionally, our quest led us to some of the worlds most renown kitchen equipment stores, where we sought instruments that would not only enhance our craft but also symbolize our dedication to culinary excellence.
We are hoping that our recent exploratory journey not only enriched our epicurean repertoire but has also reinforced our passion for providing guests with unparalleled dining experiences. Infused with the spirit of French gastronomy, our restaurant stands poised to deliver not just meals, but memories, forged by a profound love for food that is infused with our special brand of Calgary hospitality.
