our story
We had long wanted to develop a restaurant concept centered around making people feel special.
As experienced restauranteurs, we’d traveled the world sampling amazing food and beverages, and we wanted to bring something home that touched the edges of fine dining, yet remained accessible. Somewhere you can be yourself, but feel like a VIP - regardless of whether you ARE famous, ALMOST famous, WERE famous, or ABOUT TO BE famous. Our goal is to capture that elusive balance between sophistication and simplicity, elegance and ease, whimsicality and wonder — and if you know us well, a touch of mischief.
When a beautiful historic building in downtown Calgary became available, we knew we had found the perfect home. Constructed in 1893, the brick and sandstone building was originally occupied by the Calgary Herald, the oldest running newspaper in the city.
We thought of all the stories that were passed through the walls of this amazing building and we immediately knew - this is where we would gather, celebrate life’s occasions and capture some new stories of our own.
Now while we don’t take ourselves too seriously, we take what we do very seriously. This means creating a hospitality experience for our guests that is one to be remembered. For us, it’s all in the details - some might say it’s in the FinePrint.
